[For Linux Users Only]

1. To shutdown your computer with one click:

a) Right click on empty space in panel
b) Select add (application) to panel
c) Select custom application
d) In the command field type :

Adding an Application to the Right Click on Every Folder

Here is how to add any application to the Context Menu when you right click on any Folder. This way you do not have to always go to the Start Menu. When you right click on any folder, you can have access to that application, the same as using Sent To.

1. Open RegEdit
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
3. Add a new Key to the "Shell" Key and name it anything you like.
4. Give it a default value that will appear when you right click a folder, i.e. NewKey (use an "&" without the quotes, in front of any character and it will allow you to use the keyboard)
5. Click on the Key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\NewKey
6. Add a New Key named Command
7. Set the (Default) value of the application you want to run
8. For example: c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe (Include the full path and parameters if you need them)

make your computer speak:

type the following code in notepad

    Dim message, sapi
message=InputBox("What do you want me to say?","Speak to Me")
    Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
    sapi.Speak message

    save it as xxx.vbs

nice trick to hide files inside a picture

1. Gather all the files that you wish to hide in a folder anywhere in your PC (make it in C:\hidden - RECOMMENDED).

2. Now, add those files in a RAR archive (e.g. secret.rar). This file should also be in the same directory (C:\hidden).

3. Now, look for a simple JPEG picture file (e.g. logo.jpg). Copy/Paste that file also in C:\hidden.

4. Now, open Command Prompt (Go to Run and type ‘cmd‘). Make your working directory C:\hidden.

5. Now type: “COPY /b logo.jpg + secret.rar output.jpg” (without quotes) - Now, logo.jpg is the picture you want to show, secret.rar is the file to be hidden, and output.jpg is the file which contains both. :D

6. Now, after you have done this, you will see a file output.jpg in C:\hidden. Open it (double-click) and it will show the picture you wanted to show. Now try opening the same file with WinRAR, it will show the hidden archive .

Display message on start up.

Start regedit, if you are unfamiliar with regedit please see our FAQ.

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Modify the key legalnoticecaption with what you want to name the window.
Modify the key legalnoticetext with what you want the window to say. Restart

Speed up ur acrobat reader (almost like notepad)

Do u get irritated when acrobat reader takes 5/10 seconds to load when you want to open a pdf document. There is a way to speed up the loading.

1. Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader
(C:\program files\adobe\acrobat\reader\.. whatever)

2. Move all the files and folders from the "plugins" directory to the "Optional" directory. (I repeat.. cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste).

Also make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files).

Now your acrobat reader will load very fast
and almost as good as notepad..

Hide ur folders.. never known trick !!!!!!!!!! Disguise them to "Recycle Bin"

Rename any folder with extension {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
eg,
if u've a folder games
press F2,
then type, "games.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
c the magic....
then 2 get to original form,
remove the extension using
"ren games.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} games" in dos or as a bat file

n u are done..

How to Turn Your Num Lock On Forever?

You can set your Num Lock to stay on by default when you logon your system.

There are two different techniques to set Num Lock stay on by default.

If you can use Registry Editor correctly then Click on start button and type Regedt32.exe in Run command. Here Navigate to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard and change the value for InitialKeyboardIndicators from 0 to 2.

You can do same by configuring the script to change the NUM LOCK state. Click Start button and then open Notepad. Copy the giving code and paste in Notepad.

set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

WshShell.SendKeys "{NUMLOCK}"

Now save this file with name "num.vbs" must including the quotes. At the end copy this file to user startup folder. The path for this folder is Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

Now restart the computer. Num Lock should come on and stay on.

Short cut for opening "Add or Remove Programs" window is

1. Open Run

2. Type appwiz.cpl

Locking Folders without any third party software

Consider you want to lock a folder named in your E:\, whose path is E:\.
Now open the Notepad and type the following

ren .{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

Where is your folder name. Save the text file as loc.bat in the same drive.
Open another new notepad text file and type the following

ren .{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

Save the text file as key.bat in the same drive.
Steps to lock the folder:

To lock the folder, simply click the loc.bat and it will transform into control panel icon which is inaccessible.
To unlock the folder click the key.bat file. Thus the folder will be unlocked and the contents are accessible

PS: This is not worked fine in my system. But My Friend still arguing with me that this trick is working fine for him. So I thought Posting it here will be useful for others.

For Task manager:

CTRL + SHIFT + ESC

Very Very informative tHread... If we can handle this properly.

Backup your computer files

Now days it is just so easy to backup your computer files. In the old days it was a nightmare as even hard drives themselves were not even big. It was crazy to see one simple game needing eight floppy disks to store it on. Oh boy were we keen in those days. I am thankful that those days are over.

In 2011, as technology has developed, most people can easily afford the devices needed to backup your computer files. In fact technology is so cheap, that you could probably backup five other peoples computers as well.

Backup storage devices
Second hard drive installed
You can just simply buy a hard drive and install it as a second hard drive into your desktop computer.
You will need to see if your computer has SATA connections or the older type IDE connections.

External hard drive
If you have not got yourself an external hard drive yet then what is your excuse? These are great for storing files on and they will not crash when your computer does as they are classed as a separate thing.

USB flash drive
Yes even a mere USB flash drive is OK to use for backup providing that it is big enough to hold your files.
This is best for office files that do not take up too much room.

Why install a firewall?

A firewall protects you against a number of different online threats:

 --Hackers breaking into your computer.
--Some viruses, called “worms,” that spread from computer to computer over the internet.
--Some firewalls block outgoing traffic that might originate from a virus infection.

A TRICK to get a warranty replace phone

TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK....

You bought a nokia phone about a year ago and warranty will be soon over. You wish you could get a new phone?

Well this is how we do it:

Remove battery cover and battery
Connect a 12V DC power supply to the phone's battery connector
as shown in the picture
An IC will then burn internally and your phone will die. There will be no sign of it so Nokia technicians won't see that you did something to your phone and will replace it with a new one.

Do not try this if your phone is not under warranty
Do not try this if you suspect or you are not sure if your phone has ever suffered liquid or drop damage
Do not try this if you don't understand what I'm talking abouT

Notepad trick

First
Open Notepad
(start->run->notepad OR click on the desktop New->Text Document).
Then type “.LOG”(without “”)
Afterwards name the document “docname” and save it.
Close Notepad and open the saved document.
You will see the current hour and date.

Top 10 Mistakes of Yahoo

Besides gaining top traffic rank in alexa and popular as it may seem but Yahoo still has its own set of mistakes. The Yahoo website is cluttered with so many bits and pieces. This is not appealing to many people so they look for other search engine like Google. Moreover Here is a list of top 10 mistakes of Yahoo.
1. Microsoft deal controversy :They are too arrogant. They turned down Microsoft, it was a good deal for them but they did not accept the offer.
2. Unable to advantages of been old in the market : Few years ago they were the best search engine but then came Google; they got old and they never have enough efforts to regain dominance.
3. Lack of multi business model : They are trying to compete with Google Adsense. Why not think of other business model that can bring them in to the top of the game again.
4. Terry Semel is a mistake ? The guy doesn't have the talent to lead the company. His track record will show that he is not the man for the job.
5. Lost the chance to take over Google : In initial days Google founders were looking for the investors. At that time after joining Yahoo, the company founders of yahoo (Jerry Yang and David Filo ) thinks of buying Google.Again Terry Semel had dinner conversation with Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.Semel propose for paying only $7 million annually on Google search technology. They replied that they wanted $1 billion and didnt want to sell Google. Semel said he would consider the deal and need time to think about the price.Fortunately in another dinner and Semel agreed to the $1 billion but alas Larry Page and Sergey Brin replied back with a higher demand of $3 billion and didnt want to sell.
6. Yahoo Music is a flop, they should have not ventured into the music selling business. It is too crowded.
7. Yahoo Messenger is now a portal for viruses. They have to do something about this or else people will look for alternatives and will turn away from YM.Yahoo messenger is quite popular and yahoo should consider this too be under their special Research and development labs.
8. They did not successfully venture into social networking.(Yahoo mash was another FAIL) updated (thanks to kevin)
9. In the near future cloud computing will be the name of the game but Yahoo did not have any moves to conceptualize a cloud-computing environment.
10. Yahoo did not venture into the mobile phone business. It is one of the biggest gadgets today and in the future.People want to be free and mobile and yahoo should consider this seriously.

These mistakes will never stop the company from moving forward so there is still a bright future for Yahoo.

Recover a Corrupted System File.

If an essential Windows file gets whacked by a virus or otherwise corrupted, restore it from the Windows CD. Search the CD for the filename, replacing the last character with an underscore; for example, Notepad.ex_. If it's found, open a command prompt and enter the command EXPAND, followed by the full pathname of the file and of the desired destination: EXPAND D:\SETUP\NOTEPAD.EX_ C:\Windows\NOTEPAD.EXE. If either pathname contains any spaces, surround it with double quotes.

If the file isn't found, search on the unmodified filename. It will probably be inside a CAB file, which Win XP treats as a folder. Simply right-drag and copy the file to the desired location. In other Windows platforms, search for a file matching *.cab that contains the filename. When the search is done, open a command prompt and enter EXTRACT /L followed by the desired location, the full pathname of the CAB file, and the desired filename; for example: EXTRACT /L C:\Windows D:\I386\Driver.cab Notepad.exe. Again, if the destination or CAB file pathname contains spaces, surround it with double quotes.

How to Speedup Browsing Folders

You may have noticed that everytime you open my computer to browse folders that there is a slight delay. This is because Windows XP automatically searches for network files and printers when you open Windows explorer. To stop XP from doing this follow the instructions below.

1. Open My Computer
2. Click on Tools menu
3. Click on Folder Options
4. Click on the View tab.
5. Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box
6. Click Apply
7. Click Ok
8. Reboot your computer

Try it now, you will see a significant increase in speed.

Shutdown and boot vista faster

Before we really get started, it is entirely possible to mess up your Vista install very royally if you don't know what you are doing. We recommend that only power users or those on the level of Sys Admins attempt these steps. Proceed at your own risk and always create a restore point before you modify any part of the system. All the programs used for purposes of this post are freeware applications.

Vista is not XP (thankfully) but like XP it has a lot of startup processes that are, well, pretty much useless. Though beware, you might actually need some of these if you are on a network or require remote assistance features. If not, then go ahead and turn them off.

Right click on Computer, go to manage and go to Services and Applications then Services (the Standard View makes it easier to manage but that is not a necessary step). You'll see a list of applications and services in this list, thing is, you don't need quite a few of them. Some may have already been disabled or are set to manual, that's fine, leave them like that, Vista has decided on its own they are not needed or will be activated when required.

We want to look at the ones that are set on Automatic. You can organize the list either by name or startup setting, for me, I have them organized by name since it makes it easy to compare to other lists. I have used this process list for disabling items, each one is described for you so you can decide if you need it or not. Note that disabling the IKE and AuthIP Service will disable just about every single networking and network connection process on the computer. It serves you better NOT to disable it, you will still be able to connect to networks if you do but you want be able to monitor them or switch networks, best to leave that one on.

Here is list of services that are completely safe to disable (for most users):
Telephony (keep enabled if you use a modem)
SSDP Discovery
Shell Hardware Detection (disables autoplay events)
Server
Remote Access Connection Manager
Program Compatibility Assistant (face it, this service is useless, if you've ever tried it, you know what I'm talking about)
Portable Device Enumerator Service (if you use Windows Media Player with your MP3 device, keep this service on)
Perclilint
IPSec Policy Agent
IP Helper
Internet Connection Sharing (leave on if you have shared resources on a network)
Distributed Link Tracking Client
Diagnostic Policy Service (who pays attention to Windows Diagnostics anyway?)
Then there is msconfig, Vista users have the luxury of simply typing msconfig in the Start menu search box and launching it that way. Go to the Startup tab and select items you don't need, Java Update, Adobe Reader, any toolbars, iTunes helper and such are prime examples of things you can get rid of, they will start when/if they are needed. If you aren't sure about an entry, use a search engine to find out what the entry is.
If you don't want to use the built-in tools of Vista to do that then I recommend CodeStuff Starter, which has the msconfig features as well as the Management features so you can access everything from one program. CodeStuff also makes it easier to restore your system if you messed up.
It has been a dream of many to control exactly how their computer boots, granted msconfig, computer management and CodeStuff certainly make that process more manageable but it can get better and it does. Last on our list (but certainly not least) to tell Vista that you are the boss is Vista Boot Pro 3.1. The primary function of Vista Boot Pro 3.1 is to control the boot cycle if you have a second operating system installed, sure you could rely on the Vista Boot Loader but whats the fun in that?

Vista Boot Pro edits the Boot Configuration Files in the registry for you, without fail or flaw. The other way to edit the BCD file is well, to go into the registry and even I am leery about that.
Vista Boot Pro allows you to manage the Vista Boot Loader itself, edit which operating system boots first, configure the way Vista starts up and features its own Backup and Restore Center, just in case, you never know.

Vista Boot Pro is also available for Windows XP (Home, Pro, MCE 2005 and x64), Windows 2003 or Longhorn Server. Options may vary depending on operating system installed.
By disabling some processes and startup items, you are also on your way to a more secure installation of Vista but that's not everything you can do to maximize your Vista experience. This will be a continuing series of posts for optimizing Vista so stay tuned for the next one.

11 tricks to make your pc faster

Your computer running Windows isn’t running in the same speed that it used to run when you first used it. It’s slower, crappy, takes a while to start and tests your patience like anything. There are many reasons for this, let’s try fixing up a few things on your slow Windows PC:

Slow Start Up
There can be a variety of reasons to Windows loading slow during start up. Go to Run, type msconfig and hit enter. Under the ‘Start Up’ tab, uncheck the unwanted programs and press OK. Things should be a bit fine the next time Windows boots.

Another program worth mentioning here is StartUp Delayer which will help in setting after how much time programs should be loaded after Windows boots. For instance, you could set your instant messenger program to load 50 seconds after Windows starts up.

Slow Loading Start Menu
If the Start Menu items are loading slowly, you can open the Registry Editor by typing in the Run menu ‘regedit.exe’ and pressing Enter. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Look for MenuShowDelay, and double click to edit the value. The lower the number specified, the faster the Start Menu will load.

Slow Right Click Context Menu
Probably the Windows Right Click menu on your computer is loading slow because too many programs added unwanted entries there. Just download this program called Mmm, install it and then modify your context menu to remove unwanted items to speed it up.

'Send To' Menu Slow Send To Menu
If the Send To menu loads slowly, you can type ’sendto’ in the Run Dialog, and remove unwanted items in the Explorer Window that appears. This should add some speed to it.

Slow Defragmentation
The Windows Defragmenter can’t get any slower. You need to have an alternative to the Windows Defragmenter, and Defraggler is just one of the best ones available in the market. It’s free, and works like a charm and can speed up defragmentation manifold.

Slow loading My Computer Window
my-computer.jpg If the My Computer Window loads slowly, in the Explorer Window, go to Tools >> Folder Options >> View and uncheck ‘Automatically search for network folders and printers”

Slow loading Add or Remove Programs Applet
This is one of the most annoying piece of programs present in Windows, it takes ages to load if you have a considerable number of programs installed on your computer. You can either use the all-in-one CCleaner for this purpose, or get MyUninstaller that comes as a speedy replacement for Add or Remove Programs.

Slow Ending of Unresponsive Programs
If you’ve clicked on ‘End Task’ if any program is running unresponsive, you might have noticed that the program is not terminated immediately. You can alter this by going to Run >> regedit.exe >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\ and change this value to 1000.

Disable Animations and Appearance Overhauls to maximize performance
If you’re a serious performance junkie, you probably won’t bother about eyecandy. Go to System Properties in the Control Panel. Click ‘Advanced’, then ‘Performance’ and click ‘Adjust for best performance’. This might boost your PC’s performance up a bit.

Additional Tips:

- Always keep your computer clean. Remove Junk and Unnecessary registry entries. Use CCleaner for this purpose, one excellent tool that just does what it says.

- Don’t keep installing software. Install a program only if it really serves you a purpose.

- Keep as less programs as possible running on the System Tray. This essentially means reducing the number of programs that start during Windows start up.

Increasing Drive Performance

  1. You can likely increase your Hard Drive or CD ROM performance by:

        Opening up the Device Manager
Double click on the CD or Hard Drive
        Click on the Settings tab
If you have a DMA box that is not grayed out, check that box
        Reboot when prompted
When Windows starts again, see if that box is still checked.
This is especially beneficial with the newer UDMA drives which are supported by Win xp
This will also greatly reduce CPU utilization during hard drive activity.

BSNL broadband internet connection is the most used broadband service in India. But many people find the download speed is not upto the mark. If so, BSNL provides an option to upgrade the internet speed by opting for another plan. Currently BSNL offers bandwidth of upto 8MBPS.

But if you’re not interested to upgrade to a new broadband plan and wanted to increase the internet speed using some tips, then here are the detailed instructions.

How to Increase Download Speed of BSNL Broadband?

Generally windows reserves 20% of the bandwidth provided by the Internet service providers. So if we can reduce the limit to 0, then we can use the complete bandwidth allocated for us.

    Go to Start -> Run
Type “gpedit.msc” to open the group policy editor.
Navigate to “Local Computer Policy” -> “Computer Configuration” -> “Administrative Templates” -> “Network” -> “QOS Packet Scheduler” -> “Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
Now, double-click on the option named “Limit Reservable Bandwidth” and change the value from 20 to 0.

The third-party DNS servers are always better than the default BSNL DNS servers. So changing these can help you increase the download speed of the BSNL broadband.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center/Network Connections -> Open “Local Area Connection” and click on “Properties” button.
Now click on “TCP/IP” and in the DNS address fields, replace the current DNS servers with the below two addresses.

        208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

Click “OK” and restart the Internet connection.

That’s it! The above tips worked excellently for me to increase my BSNL broadband speed.

Note: Windows 7 Home Edition (64 bit) doesn’t have gpedit.msc option (group policy editor). Hence, skip the first step and go with the second option if you’re win 7 home user

Tricks about VLC Media player

1. Rip DVDs:
VLC includes a basic DVD ripper. You probably would never use it when there are better DVD rippers available, but it helps to know that you can in fact, get a decent quality DVD rip with VLC. To rip a movie follow these steps: Go to the Media menu and choose Convert/Save. Click on the Disc tab. * Here you can adjust the Starting Position and rip only specific titles or chapters. * Enter file name making sure to end with .MPG, and start ripping. * Click Save.
2. Record videos:
With the new VLC, you can record videos during playback. The record button is hidden by default. To see it, click on View>Advanced Control. The record button will now appear. Clicking on the
button while playing a movie or video will start recording. Clicking again will stop recording.
3. Play RAR files:
Do u know VLC can play videos zipped inside RAR files? They play like normal video files and you can even use the seek bar. If the RAR file
is split into several files, no problem. Just load the first part (.part001.rar ) and it will automatically take the rest of the parts and play the whole file. 4. Play in ASCII mode:
VLC media player has an amusing ability, to playback movies in ASCII art. To enable ASCII mode, open VLC media player and click on Tools>Preferences. Open the section “Video” section and under “Output” select “Color ASCII art video output” from the drop down menu. Save it. Now play any video file to enjoy the ASCII art.
5. Listen to online radio:
VLC includes hundreds of Shoutcast radio stations. You just need to enable it through Media>Services Discovery>Shoutcast radio listings. Now, open the Playlist and browse through the stations.
6. Convert Audio and Video formats:
In VLC you can convert video and audio files from one format to another. Several different formats are supported like MP4, WMV, AVI, OGG, MP3 etc. To access the converter: * Go to Media>Convert/ Save. * Load the file you want to convert using the Add button and click Convert. * Now choose the output format and output file location.
7. Download YouTube and other online videos:
First grab the URL of the YouTube video page. Now click on Media>Open Network stream. Paste the URL and click Play. Once VLC starts streaming the video, click Tools>Codec Information and at the bottom of the window you will see a Location box. Copy the URL and paste it on your browser’s address bar. The browser will now download the file which you can save it to your hard disk. Alternatively, you can record the video

Password protect folders in windows xp

Do you share a computer with other users and want some extra security on your folders? There are two ways to password protect a folder built into Windows XP (for other Windows flavors, there are some freeware/shareware programs out there).
1. If you have a log in password for your account, this can be used to protect folders from other users. Your hard drive must be formatted using NTFS (which it probably is unless you're dual booting with another operating system). Here's what to do...

Right-click the folder that you want to make private and choose "Properties" (or Alt+Double-click). Go to the "Sharing" tab and check the "Make this folder private" box.

Click Apply . If you do not have a password on your account, a box will pop up asking if you want to assign a password. This must be done if you want to make the folder private, so click Yes . You will need to use your password to log on to your computer from then on.

Type in a password then confirm it. Click the "Create Password" button then close the Password window.

Click OK in the Properties dialog box.

Now anyone else logged on to your computer can't access that file without knowing your password.

#2. If the Folder is Zipped you can give it a unique password.

Just double-click the zipped folder. In the top menu select File then click "Add a Password".

Type a password into the Password box. Then again in the "Confirm Password" box.

Now, you are the only person who can access files in this folder. The folder can be opened allowing the files to be seen, but you are the only one who can access them.

Don't you feel more secure now?

speed up internet

Here's a great tip to speed up your browsing of Windows XP machines. Its actually a fix to a bug installed as default in Windows 2000 that scans shared files for Scheduled Tasks. And it turns out that you can experience a delay as long as 30 seconds when you try to view shared files across a network because Windows 2000 is using the extra time to search the remote computer for any Scheduled Tasks. Note that though the fix is originally intended for only those affected, Windows 2000 users will experience that the actual browsing speed of both the Internet & Windows Explorers improve significantly after applying it since it doesn't search for Scheduled Tasks anymore. Here's how :

Open up the Registry and go to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace

Under that branch, select the key :

{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}

and delete it.

This is key that instructs Windows to search for Scheduled Tasks. If you like you may want to export the exact branch so that you can restore the key if necessary.

This fix is so effective that it doesn't require a reboot and you can almost immediately determine yourself how much it speeds up your browsing processes.

Delete An "undeletable" File

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE
Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
Leave Task Manager open.
Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.
At the command prompt type DEL <filename> where <filename> is the file you wish to delete.
Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.
Close Task Manager.

Or you can try this

Open Notepad.exe

Click File>Save As..>

locate the folder where ur undeletable file is

Choose 'All files' from the file type box

click once on the file u wanna delete so its name appears in the 'filename' box

put a " at the start and end of the filename
(the filename should have the extension of the undeletable file so it will overwrite it)

click save,

It should ask u to overwrite the existing file, choose yes and u can delete it as normal

Here's a manual way of doing it. I'll take this off once you put into your first post zain.

1. Start
2. Run
3. Type: command
4. To move into a directory type: cd c:\*** (The stars stand for your folder)
5. If you cannot access the folder because it has spaces for example Program Files or Kazaa Lite folder you have to do the following. instead of typing in the full folder name only take the first 6 letters then put a ~ and then 1 without spaces. Example: cd c:\progra~1\kazaal~1
6. Once your in the folder the non-deletable file it in type in dir - a list will come up with everything inside.
7. Now to delete the file type in del ***.bmp, txt, jpg, avi, etc... And if the file name has spaces you would use the special 1st 6 letters followed by a ~ and a 1 rule. Example: if your file name was bad file.bmp you would type once in the specific folder thorugh command, del badfil~1.bmp and your file should be gone. Make sure to type in the correct extension.
